You know what burns? (Save your Kat Stacks jokes for later, I'm trying to be serious.) Being disappointed by someone you've put your time and trust in. And I know we all get disappointed from time to time, it's a part of life, but the shit still pisses me off. And yes, I know I can't always get my way and blah blah blah, but for real, for serious though? The shit is obnoxious.
When someone sets an expectation for you of themselves, you'd expect for them to deliver, right? Why give your word and not stand by it?
Well fuck spontaneity. I sat in the house all that day waiting to hear from dude for me to get one text letting me know he was being held up. Needless to say I went about my day with my homegirl without hearing from him the rest of the day. You know I would have been PISSED had I not gotten paid for that day?? Lucky for him I got (had, lol) plenty of PTO to spare but that's beside the point.
You know the worst of it all? I never got an apology. No "I'm sorry you took off work for nothing." Just a couple TwitPics to the general public as what the hold up was, though my understanding was that it had been corrected prior to his trip up, but again, neither here nor there. Fact of the matter is, time is money and you wasted mine.
I just don't understand this coming from someone who seemed so gung ho about rebuilding our friendship to finally take things further. Wouldn't you like to NOT fuck shit up AGAIN like you did previously? Yeah I know we had that conversation but still. You say I'm the one that got away, yet you seem intent on letting me go. And I refuse to hold my breath. I got enough going on in my life, I told you I needed support and you obviously seem to be incapable of delivery.
I guess this is my rant to him seeing as how I never got the chance to before, what with me never receiving that apology and all. Haven't spoken a word to him since. But I originally started writing this to talk about my disappointment from today. Don't even feel like getting into another story, especially cuz I ended up having a pretty damn good day. Bottom line, people need to stop promising and then failing to deliver. You're hurting others probably more than you realize.
